Americans who have never been ruled by a human king or Lord cannot fully appreciate God’s sovereignty. We are raised with an independent mindset as well as worldview. But maybe I'm reading too much of my own old man's understanding of Grace. "Thy will be done" is an acceptance of God's sovereignty and trusting in His grace.
