I think that's a correct assertion, based upon the idea than humans are inherently good, which of course, is contrary to scripture and all available evidence. It's yet another of Satan's lies, all predicated upon the idea that we are somehow the equivalent of God.

I am often amazed at how Machen's words remain applicable today. Such timelessness should indicate that he was on to something.

ReplyDeleteWe catch on to the Devil, and he comes up with something slicker, more subtle. Nowadays, it's the "New Perspective on Paul," which downplays sin, says Israel does not need to repent, and that conversionism is generally unnecessary.
Chuck, agreed. For that reason, vigilance as necessary, together with God's gift of discernment to be able to spot the "little untruths" which often lead to outright heresy.
