  1. I'd like to commend the Search Committee for doing an excellent job.

  2. It looks like a good mix. From what I can see, it looks like these candidates had some tough questions, which is good. I suspect the interviews were tough too. Time for the pewsters to do more research.

  3. Underground Pewster, "Tough questions"? Really? It's the Episcopal Church. Having lived through the experience myself they're not that tough.

  4. Steve,

I agree that they are usually not tough, but at least the question,

"If you were elected bishop of EDUSC, how would you counsel a rector who was asked to bless a same gender relationship..."

was asked, and answers to that one are revealing. I would have liked to have seen the question of what would you do if you are informed that SSBs being performed by a rector?

Of course, anyone called to be a bishop shouldn't have much trouble with any questions posed because the Lord will help them with the answers when the time comes, if He so chooses.

Lord knows, I have been thinking of a few toughies that they may need the Lord's help with.

  5. You have some excellent candidates. It isn't my game, and I am no longer in TEC, but I can't help rooting for Michell+. He was the choice of the traditionalists in the DIOTN a few years ago, but was blocked repeatedly by the progressives in the clergy. We, now they, got an OK bishop in the end, but the the progressives successfully blocked anyone who would actually take a meaningful stand.

Newsflash for you - Dean Philip Linder decides to rejoin the Bishop for DUSC process! A month ago God told him to stay at the cathedral and now God speaking through the Search Committee tells him to return to the process? Seems a bit opportunistic that he re enters after the first "cut."

  7. Something very, very fishy is going on. Creates one more posting for yours truly to put together, and I was looking forward to a weekend of R+R. A pewster scorned is a dreadful thing.
